A very impressive and bold necklace made of 8 huge barrel shaped phenolic resin (bakelite or catalin) beads with a lovely butterscotch color mimicking amber. They test positive for bakelite with simichrome and have a lovely aged patina. The bakelite beads are interspersed with amazing large silver beads which have textural patterns on either side, they resemble Sri Lankan beads, but I am not entirely sure of their origin. The necklace also has smaller silver beads that are entirely handmade. The necklace is threaded onto a metal chain. A very noticeable and fantastic necklace that closes easily with a hook and eye.

Length is 64 cm (25 1/2"). The phenolic resin beads are 30 x 17 mm. Weight is 185 g.
